Pensacola Events
Looking for a reason to travel to the Gulf Coast? Check out some of Pensacola’s signature events that are held every year!
Crawfish Festival (May)
Are you ready to get your fingers messy as you peel through tons of boiled crawfish? Head over to the Fiesta of Five Flags Crawfish Festival, held at the Community Maritime Park in Downtown Pensacola.
During the festival, you’ll find more than 16,000 pounds of crawfish, along with a plethora of crawfish pies and poboys. However, if you’re not crazy about crawfish, that’s okay! The event also serves other foods such as hamburgers, hotdogs, and other fried treats.
The festival also has a Children’s Area, where kids can take part in budget-friendly face painting, arts and crafts, balloons, games, and crawfish races. And if you’re feeling confident (and hungry!), go ahead and enter the crawfish-eating contest, which is held daily for both kids and adults!
Foo Foo Festival
The Foo Foo Festival brings together a mix of art and cultural events. You’ll get to experience everything from ballet and opera, to Blue Angel air shows, and a Big Green Egg Cook-off.
While the festival has different events every year, it is traditionally centered around the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival, the Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival, and the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show.
Most of the events on the Foo Foo Festival calendar are free. However, some special events require a ticket. More information, along with festival dates, can be found here.
Taste of the Beach (October)
The Taste of the Beach event brings some of the best Pensacola restaurants down to the shore for a weekend celebration of food, whether it be seafood, southern, savory, or sweet! This is the perfect festival for anyone who loves to feel their toes in the sand while eating some delicious food, all while next to the water and under bright, sunny skies.
Taste of the Beach has everything from low-cost samples of some of the best local restaurants’ signature dishes, to celebrity chef events.
Gallery Night
One Friday evening each month, Gallery Night brings the streets of Historic Downtown Pensacola to life. Visitors and locals alike flood the streets to enjoy all of the music, cuisine, and art. Boutiques, galleries, bars, and restaurants, all open their doors so you can stop in as you and your family make your way to the downtown parks to linger around the historic oaks and sparkling fountains.
These are just a few of the awesome events Pensacola has to offer. If you’re in the area, you should check out what activities are going on. If there aren’t any events going on, worry not! Come spend a day fishing with me at Rock Bottom Charters. It’s the perfect way to spend that day out of the house with family and friends.
